4 yr. old-Creepcakes

On Halloween, we made Creepcakes. They're really just cupcakes but we made them extra creepy with green and black frosting and cool-looking things coming out of them! Some looked like monsters with teeth, some had worms coming out! All were totally creepy creepcakes!

4 yr. old-Happy Halloween!

We had the spookiest time wearing our costumes and singing Witches' Brew and Dry Bones! Happy Halloween!

Field Trip to Pumpkin Farm

Our field trip to the Dabb's Pumpkin Farm was a blast! Mr. Dabb always dresses up like a scarecrow with a pumpkin head. We all got to pick our own pumpkins to take home! It always feels like autumn after a trip to the pumpkin farm!

4 yr. old-Fire Safety Fun

After working hard learning all about fire safety, we had to have some fun dancing to "Great Balls of Fire" and waving our sparkle wands!

4 yr. old-Fire Safety

We learned a lot about fire safety! We learned to stop, drop and roll if something on us catches on fire. We learned to crawl out of a burning building so we don't breathe so much smoke in. We learned that we need to have 2 ways to get out of our house. Take some family time to show your kids your smoke detectors and what they sound like. Talk about ways to get out of your house in an emergency and make a special meeting place in your yard or neighbor's yard for your family to meet if an emergency happens in your house.

3 Year Old-Little Boy Blue

Little Boy Blue, come blow your horn! The sheep's in the meadow, the cow's in the corn. Where is the boy who looks after the sheep, He's under the haystack fast asleep. Will you wake him? No, not I. For if I do, he's sure to cry.

Nursery rhymes help us with phonemic awareness (hearing different sounds) and preparatory to reading. We'll learn a lot of nursery rhymes this year!

3 Year Old-Yellow Sunflowers

We talked about yellow today. Yellow is such a cheery color. We made sunflowers out of plates and real sunflower seeds.

4 Year Old-Colors Galore

We reviewed our colors. We took a survey of everyone's favorite color. Blue got the most votes at 7. Pink was a distant second at 2 and red, purple, green and yellow each got one vote. We also got to play color bingo with M&Ms. We had to match the M&M to the circle on the bingo card after Miss Jennie picked the color.
